Western Balkans Environment Programe

In line with the second component of the Hot Spots Project, promotional event on Hot Spots Project activities and awareness raising , was organized in the Lojane primary school yard.

Present on this event were the teaching staff of the school, approimately 200 pupils, representatives of the Municipality of Lipkovo, representatives of the NGO "Association of the Albanian Intelectual Women", as well as representatives of Hot Spots Project.

This event was organized in order to promote the project activities regarding the remediation of the dump site as well as awareness raising for the pupils in particular on the environmental protection needs and living with environmental hot spot. Drawing contest was applied and the pupils wrote and drawn their messages regarding the protection of the environment. 

A close visit to the dump site was organized where information were given on the potential hazard from the arsenic concentrate and the remediation plans by the Hot Spots Project.
