On 19.01.2009, representatives from BT Engineering, preceded by its Executive Manager Mr. Botio Tabakov, submitted the Final Main Technical Design for Water Protection Measure in Bucim Mine-Radovis.
Mr. Tabakov briefly elaborated the content and comprehensively presented the core issues of the design.
Technical Design - Part 1, comprising intake, pumping station, pipeline and new water resevoir V=300 m3 has been completed.
The design has been financed in parallel by Bucim Mine(part of co-financing). Currently the review of project documentation is ongoing and ToR and tender documents are under preparation for construction works/procurement of equipment.
Draft Feasibility Assessment and Main Technical Design Submitted
The Feasibility Assessment (FA) has been elaborated in order to identify and analyze clean-up technologies for all waters from Bucim Mine. The desired result is to collect and treat all polluted water in a sustainable and effective manner.
UNDP Country Offices in the Western Balkan countries developed a regional
demonstration programme around demand driven projects in nine locations
suffering from the legacy of polluting industries and requiring industrial
renewal, environmental clean up and new economic initiative.
UNDP Hot Spots Project has finalized the tendering process for selection of Consulting company for "Feasibility Assessment and Development of Main Technical Design for Water Protection Measures - Bucim Mine (Municipality of Radovis)". The Evaluation Committee reviewed the offers and selected BT Engineering Ltd., Bulgaria, as best value for money.
