UNDP Hot Spots Project in line with the second component, Demostration and Information Sharing, on 29.04.2009 in the premises of "Klub na Pratenici", Skopje, organized Round Table to discuss issues related to the Historical Mining Pollution in Macedonia including the following:

1. Current situation with the historical mining and industrial pollution in Macedonia

2. Current national legislation and the EU approximation needs

3. National and Local capacity building needs

On February 17, 2009, in the Parliamentarian's club in Skopje, UNDP Hot Spots Project organized presentation of the FA and MTD for Water Protection Measures - Bucim Mine.

On this event, among other, present was Mr. Nexhati Jakupi, MoEPP Minister, and Ms. Marije Maessen, First Secretary ,Embassy of Kindom Of Netherlands in Macedonia.

On February 12, 2009 in the premises of Bucim Mine, Mr. Botio Tabakov, BT Engineering General Manager, presented the Feasibility Assessment and Main Technical Design for Water Protection Measures - Bucim Mine. This presentation meeting was organized by UNDP Hot Spots Project and hosted by Bucim Management.

Dr. Nexhati Jakupi, Minister of Environmet and Physical Planning, on February 2nd, 2009 had a meeting with high-level UNDP Delegation preceded by Ms. Maria Luisa Silva Mejias, UNDP Resident Representative. The delegation included Ms. Cihan Sultanoglu, Deputy Regional Director for Europe and the CIS and Mr. Moises Venacio, Western Balkans Team Leader. The meeting was also attended  by Ms. Anita Kodzoman, UNDP Energy and Environment Cluster Programme Officer.
